A Modern Take on Statement Lighting
The Highland series pieces are classic, Venetian, Rezzonico-style chandeliers made with modern color and adornment options. 
 
'Rezzonico style' chandeliers are those that have the blown glass supported by a metal skeleton (brass) allowing it to support much heavier loads of hand made adornments. This style of chandelier was originally created during the renaissance, required the highest level of skilled artisan and was considerted the ultimate statement of luxury and wealth for the home.
 
The design has remained, over the centuries, the choice for designers and homeowners looking for a significant statement piece to mark a space. More recently, they have found their ways into modern and contemporary as well as the traditional classic & ornate styled spaces. 
 
Modernizing The Statement
If the historic statement made by the owner of these works was, "look at me, I'm wealthy and have taste", today, handblown glass chandeliers have made a dramatic comeback because of what they are not. They are not machine manufactured, made in low cost sweatshops, require no robotic manufacturing nor Ai. We think they are so important again to designers because they are a pure expression of skill earned only through tens of thousands of hours of artisan toiling. 
 
These chandeleirs make the statement that handmade, highly skilled artworks matter and they make that statement loudly in every room in which they reside.
 
STYLE VARIATIONS
268 - This series includes two lit tiers plus a decorative tier and ceiling mount. The bottom two tiers are six and eight armed lit tiers powered by modern, sustainable and long life LED bulbs. The upper tiers are unlit, decorated tiers. The Highlands 268 is large, 60" tall and 60" wide. 
 
236 - This series also has two lit tiers and a decorative ceiling mount. But the size is medium sized, approximately 40" wide by 40" tall with the lit middle and lower tiers containing 3 and 6 arms respectively.  All are powered by modern, sustainable and long life LED bulbs. 
 
.16 - This series has one lit tier, one unlit decorative tier plus a decorated ceiling mount. The lit tier has six arms powered by modern, sustainable and long life LED bulbs. It measures approximately 36-38" wide and 30" tall.
 
STYLING 
CLASSICAL - Original Rezzonico style chandeliers can still be seen today in European palaces, hotels and historic buildings. They were ultimate statement pieces that announced the wealth of the owner and so are often found in classic architectural spaces. If you are looking to complete a luxury space, we suggest the classic clear chandelier with or without gold leaf.   
 
MODERN / CONTEMPORARY - Vogue called handmade Venetia-style the 'ultimate statement lighting' in it's 2023 design outlook article. Just like they were back in the renaissance, these fixtures can be completely customized, making them absolutely unique and eye catching. We love using modern colors (like our own exclusive neo-violet) and design elements on these classic shapes. Consider customizing with bold colors, opaque glasses, matte finishes, and contemporary hand sculpted adornments to bring these forms as contemporary statements for the most modern space.
 
CUSTOMIZATION
ORNAMENTS - Since all of our works are made to order, we are happy to customize the drop ornaments and/or light cups to suit. Our base styles include the classic ornaments shown in the images above. We welcome requests for customization.
 
FINISH - Our base chandeliers can be ordered in two finishes:
Gloss - This is our most common option. Glass is left shiny, as blown.
Gold - Clear or colored glass is rolled in 24k gold during the glassblowing process. 
 
UNLIT OPTIONS - Chandeliers may be made without lighting for those that prefer. 
 
SAMPLES - To help make choices about color and finish, we offer samples of each. Customers that end up buying a chandelier will be credited the price of their samples against their final order price.
